Contractions or not??

I’m 37 weeks, I’ve been having the usual tightenings for a while now, but never developed any pattern to them and no real pain accompanying them. Todsh I feel like they’re getting more frequent and more intense, slight back pain and thighs feel warm. I just can’t tell whether it’s contractions or he’s squirming and makin my stomach hard, does this resonate with anyone? This is my second baby, I was induced with my first so I’ve got nothing to go off really.

Might be Braxton hicks. Could maybe ring midwife's and ask them

I’m 37 weeks with first baby so can’t compare to anything but I’m in a similar boat except mine have been calmer today than yesterday. I made a note of all the tightening/pains and times etc just in case to see if there was a pattern. I’m the same though not sure if the baby has just moved or if belly is hard. definitely make a note and mention to midwife if you’re concerned at all though xx

I’ve had two baby’s, and I can tell you now you will know when your in labour! They start off like period type pains and then just get closer together and more intense. If they aren’t regular it could either be early labour (which can go on for days sometimes) or just braxton kicks. Youll know when it’s the real deal as it just keeps getting more painful

@Chloe I’ve thought this 😅 I’m just desperate to go into labour now so I suppose I’m just on high alert for every single sign xx

@Jodie I as exactly like that with my first, ended up going overdue because I was tense. My second I was super chilled and one day did a meditation while bouncing on my wall and my waters broke that day, I was 8 days early. As hard as it is try to really relax in these last couple of weeks. And also I told myself my due date was a week after so I wasn’t putting pressure to go into labour at a certain date. Your more likely to go into labour if there’s lots of oxytocin flowing ❤️

Sounds like early stages of labour or Braxton hicks to me. I’d keep an eye but stay calm. I assume you’ve not noticed whether your waters have gone? I would ring your midwife and see what they suggest.
