Pls consider natural birth

Natural birth with epidural! I had one - the recovery was so much easier and faster (my mum had 3 elective c-sections and told me her recovery was very difficult). Also, no visible scars! Once your body learns how birth works, your second (and third and so on) experiences with labour are much easier. Bub also passes through the vaginal microflora and this has been shown to have benefits for their immune system

Natural vaginal birth all the way!! Epidural is an option but if you can go without medication I promise you’ll be so so proud of yourself. As Pau said above, recovery is much quicker but also the benefits for Bub to be born vaginally are amazing!!

I had to have an emergency C section but had I had the option... natural for sure! Body heals faster, benefits for the baby. I'm pregnant again and hoping for VBAC 🤞🏻

Why is everyone big on natural? Mentally I don’t think I can do it

I had an elective c-section for my mental health. with my history the risk of panic attacks or worse was too high to even consider a natural birth. It was very stress free. recovery was not nearly as bad as I thought. baby born in 15m, surgery over within an hour. Worst part was nightly needles of anti inflammatories in the gut. Because I couldn’t get out of bed my partner was super involved from the start (not that he wouldn’t be, but there was no other option so the mid wives showed him everything). I was up and walking first evening (shakily). For the 6 weeks recovery I had to remind myself not to push it because I felt physically fine. Scar is a non issue, very fine. I don’t have a pooch but that will depend on your body. Baby was a little mucousy as they don’t get squeezed out! It’s really up to your own risk appetite and preferences. Yes, natural birth that goes smoothly has less risk. but emergency c-sections are far more risky, and recovery is far worse.

C section was the best. No pain, no probs with losing weight. No problems with incontinence or prolapse which is more common with natural birth. As a nurse I have seen reports of many cases of physical birth trauma and didn’t want to join that cohort. I was up after a few hours having a shower and looking after my girl. Also, my scar is barely noticeable. I had my girl on the Gold Coast. But if you know someone who’s had a good c section in Sydney, go with that surgeon.

I’m going for natural birth depends how I go I will get the epidural if needed since I’m young mama

I still feel like I may consider c section but I am taking in everyone’s comments

Please consider the benefits for bub when born vaginally! Here’s a great study: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3110651/ I was worried about recovery & the length of birth prior our little girl arriving but had a 100% Unmedicated 1.5 hour labour from start to finish and was fully recovered in 2 weeks.

1.5 hours oh no Look I am still considering all options however I am endometriosis I know what it’s like to be in constant pain all the time and for once I get to choose, for once I get to control pain. Regardless I am thinking about it. Thank you for sharing your experience.
