Bath after c-section?

Until my doctor gave the go ahead at the 6 week check up x

My midwife said not to submerge it until 2 weeks after. I had my dressing off on day 7 and then I had a bath a week after. I checked Google and it advises the same also

I had mine after 2 weeks I had a dressing on for 7 days then was told to just shower not to submerge it for the next week then had a bath not too hot x

I didn’t submerge it until after my 6 week appointment. I waited until I had no more afterbirth.

I was about 5 weeks. It’s all dependent on when you can get in and out of the bath safely and when your external wound has healed rather than a set time

6 weeks I was told but I waited a lot longer. My scar is non existent and healed beautifully with no over hang

I was 4 weeks post section with both my babies when I had a bath xx

I waited 8 weeks, just until after my check up but it was more to do with getting in and out than affecting the scar

Not just your C-section scar, remember you have a dinner plate sized wound inside, do you want any bath water getting up there and causing infection?!

I’m waiting until my check up at 8 weeks to be given the all clear for a bath!
