So you can try paracetamol, birth ball and different positions, labour breathing, have a bath, any things you've learnt about that can help with managing labour. But if it is that painful you can't talk through contractions etc I'd call triage anyway. How frequent are they? Oh just noticed your waters have broken, you should call triage if that happens anyway.

@Tanya i called them when my waters broke and they said to keep an eye on contractions, they’ve been frequent but they’ve said they need to be more frequent to warrant coming in but i am in agony 😭😭 i don’t want to keep calling them but it’s getting so painful

@Tanya i’ve tried paracetamol, birth ball and breathing and i don’t have a bath 😭 nothing seems to help. do u reckon it’s worth calling?

I would ring again, when my waters broke as soon as I said they asked me to come in to be checked. I’m sure on my antenatal class it also said that if you really can’t deal with the pain you can ask to stay in but guess some places have different rukes maybe? Hope it gets better! I had awful pain when I got to 3/4cm and had to have the epidural

I think if it's that bad you can't cope I'd try calling them again anyway, and don't be afraid to show how much it hurts on the call! With my first my contractions were irregular and I could still talk etc so they didn't believe I was in established labour and I didn't get examined til I was already 9cm, agony!

Please just call them! You have every right to go in and ask for pain relief xx

Its bizzare that they’re making you stay home after your waters broke especially because you can get an infection once they do! Did they atleast check you out? (Also I realise ur not asking for this opinion at all but I just wanna make sure you’re safe!!!) also goodluck 😍🫶🏽🤍

My contractions never became regular but I was 4cm and in a fair amount of pain. Hypnobirthing and birthing combined worked amazingly for me 🫶

My midwife suggested using codeine at home, you can ask someone else to buy it for you if you have someone there

i was told to wait home and have paracetamol when my contractions were coming every 5/6 minutes, but i went in anyway, was checked and was 6cm dilated. baby was born less than 2 hours later. if you haven't yet, i'd go in or at least call again if i were you, they said to me that if i wasn't dilated enough they could give me some pain relief. hope everything is going well xx
