Elective c section

I’d say just make sure you’ve got some help around you for the first 3/4 days, keep up with your pain meds, after a week I was feeling mostly back to normal, but definitely in the first few days I’d say take all the help you can x

It's your baby/body...your choice 💞 Families are often unhelpful and don't see how their opinions aren't supportive and add guilt and a bunch of other feelings you don't need, especially at a time like this. I'm sure you've weighed up natural labour and birth vs c-section. I do echo the above about having practical help afterwards. It's a lot easier to manage physically after a natural birth and you'll only need the support of midwives at the time. Depends on your body, I've heard of people managing ok after a few days (but they had help) and my old boss struggled to sit up or pick up the baby for almost 2 weeks. Ultimately it's your choice. Just need a little more planning afterwards to recover from surgery 💝

I’m pregnant & single, I’m 32 weeks and want an elective section (mainly to try and have some control/benefit my mental health…this years been tough). They’ve pencilled me in for end of Nov & I’m seeing the consultant at 34 weeks to discuss it further. I’m sorry you feel judged. You have your reasons for choosing this and it’s your body, baby & decision. I’m anxious about dealing with things post-op but I’ve got an amazing friend who’s going to support me.
