Hospital bag

Hi everyone! Just want to start buying for my hospital bag so I can get prepared. Please can people tell me what I need to take? Or anything you wish you brought to the hospital with you. Thanks so much 🫶🏻 *I plan on bottle feeding*

Honestly, they give you everything there. I did wish I brought my own robe. Bring extra clothes if you don’t want to sleep in the hospital gown and your clothes to go home in. Also baby clothes. If you plan on breast feeding, bring your pump so the lactation can size you for your flange and teach you how to use the pump.

I guess you’re in the UK These are the things I put on mine from the NHS website: https://www.nhs.uk/start-for-life/pregnancy/preparing-for-labour-and-birth/hospital-bag-checklist/ Additionally, you could put nipple cream, peri bottle and snacks!

(I sound like I’m obsessed with these, the number of times I mention them to people 😅….) But if you plan to breast feed, nipple cream and nipple shields are useful to have available in case you end up needing them.

@Rosa I second this!!!

Nappies Baby wipes Maternity pants maternity pads Tooth paste and toothbrush Face wash Pyjamas (a few) Towel Charger Flip flops Pump Nipple cream Deodorant Snacks Comfy clothes Compression socks Moisturiser Hat for baby Baby clothes Muslin cloths Blanket (you and baby) Nursing bras

honestly, the hospital provided everything for baby and i except for clothes! we stayed 5 days and most of the time, our baby was just wrapped in a diaper and swaddle! i would recommend all of the basics, but also- button up pajamas!! PILLOW FROM HOME!😂 i liked to use my own blanket.. your pump if you plan to pump.. airpods if you like to listen to music.. i brought my stanley to keep water/ice in before and after delivery to keep myself hydrated!!! snackssss omg- hospital food here is gross and you’re gonna be up all night with baby! definitely bring your favorite snacks. other than that, i would recommend bring your own toiletries and things of that nature.. the hospital here also sent us home with everything we needed for about a week!

I was told the hospital would have newborn bottles and formula for baby but when I got there they didn't have the kind that I'd chosen so I'd check with them before you go. They didn't have kendamil, they definitely did have aptamil, c&g and sma.

Honestly, the birthing gowns suck. Pack something you are okay getting your birthing liquids on. Your baby will mostly be in a swaddle, so an outfit or two. Phone chargers, a blanket ( my hormones once my water broke made me freeze, and it broke early. I was only 3cm) plus, it might make you feel more secure during the transition phase. I also reccomend adult pull ups for your pads. Your ice pack wont slip out, less blood pooling, and they are easier to use. My husband could easily help get them on and off me.

Comfy slippers and comfortable, warm clothes. +your favorite scents to wash and clean with 🫶🏾 The best to you Mama Chlo! -Mama Chlo.

Thank you so much everyone!! X
