What are y’all packing in your toddler’s overnight bag?

I just finished packing my daughter’s overnight bag for when I go into labor and I cannot stop crying. This is the first time she will be away from us overnight and I know she’ll be okay since she’ll be staying with my mom and sisters but I’m a mess! All i have packed is her clothes and toiletries since she has tons of toys at her grammy’s house but i feel like i should add something special maybe? What kind of things are you guys packing for your kids while you’re away having baby?

Nothing. I didn’t want him to get anxious with so much change. It’s my first time being away from my toddler for so long. So I have family coming over to our house to stay with him for a couple days instead of having him go to theirs. That way, everything looks familiar and his routine remains the same.

My toddler has actually done two overnights with my mom since I've been pregnant as practice. How old is your toddler? Mine just turned three, and we've had lots of talks about how she will be with her Yaya while mommy is at the hospital having her brother. I've packed nothing special, but definitely feel like I've prepared her for when the time comes.

I’m on the same boat I have never left my 2 yr old overnight with anyone. I’m probably just going to pack clothes/ diapers/wipes and her favorite books and snacks.

@Johanna unfortunately that’s not an option for us but i’m glad your family is able to do that for you guys!

@Samantha she’s 4 so technically not a toddler😅 we’ve had lots of talks with her as well and she’s super excited for her sibling to be born but is constantly telling me how much she’ll miss me while i’m gone which makes me nervous to how it’ll go. Husband and I have had late date nights where my mom will stay over, do her night time routine & put her to sleep so she’s comfortable staying with my mom but has never actually done that at her house yet because she just doesn’t want to. She does know that when the time comes she’ll have to stay at her grammy’s house though.

@Liz Do you know how long your stay will be? I was only there two nights for my daughter, and it was an emergency c-section. The doctor told me today they can release you after one night depending on how things go with mom and baby.

@Samantha i’m hoping all goes well and we’re only there for one night. My first was delivered vaginally and i had to stay 24 hours after. My OB hasn’t mentioned anything about a c section so unless I need an emergency c section i should be delivering this baby vaginally as well.
