Elective c section

Hi all, any positive/pro’s of elective c section? I’m debating opting for one as it’s been offered and would love to hear successful stories during and post op/recovery 💛

I chose a C section and I LOVED it. The whole thing was absolutely amazing. The recovery was easy and I was in the pub having lunch on day 4. I found the whole thing truly magical. Feel free to message me about any questions you have. I found speaking to people about it before so nice and refreshing. Always happy to speak about my experience xx

As above. Best choice I could make.

Ditto. Calm, beautiful, worth the slightly longer recovery time. Day 4 was also my first day feeling like I could go out

I had a category 2 last time and it was a lovely, gentle, calm experience, I'm opting for an elective this time. Recovery is rough, not going to lie it's major surgery, but it's not nightmarish. I felt up to doing most gentle activities (supermarket shop, gentle walks, trips to town etc) and was comfortable to wear jeans and normal clothes again after about 2 weeks.

Gonna follow this post, unsure which approach I'm going to take

I've had 2. Wouldn't have changed it. Both were early due to other complications. I didn't want to risk an emergency C-section because I make big babies with large heads (my first was 9lbs11oz in week 37, he would've been 12lbs full term hahaaa). If there wasn't a medical aspect to my reasoning, I probably would've been more open to vaginal first as it is a major surgery with risks. Be mindful too many doctors will not allow a vbac after having a C-section because they don't want to be liable for the risks (I had one of those providers part of my pregnancy where if you've even had 1 C-section they will not allow a vbac) and it does increase risks in future pregnancies if you get pregnant too quickly afterwards. I was basically feeling back to normal about 2 weeks PP both times. My second time, healing took longer though and I wasn't fully closed/healed until almost 10 weeks PP as opposed to 1.5 weeks after my first (differences in how they closed me up, and my overhang was worse so it was hard to keep dry).

As a first time Mom my elective in September was amazing and I couldn’t of asked for a better experience despite being terrified

I had an elective for my son and I loved it. It was everything I wanted x
