Planned C-Section

Spoke to our consultant this morning and booked in for a planned C-Section at 39 weeks. My husband’s original plan was the take 4 weeks off (starting the day of the section) but it’s likely now it’ll be 3 weeks. I know this is so much more time than many get so I am incredibly thankful. Having said this, I had a bit of a break down this morning worrying about the recovery etc. The hormones are wild and I’m so up and down! Anyone had a planned section and able to advise on recovery time (even just for being able to mobilise and care for the baby independently at home)? Also positive c-section stories welcome cause I’m terrified! Also advice on anything different I should pack compared to a ‘normal’ delivery. Thanks in advance xx

I had a planned section with my first. Positive experience. Happy for you to DM me and talk about it.

I had a great planned section last time and I’m doing the same this time, in terms of recovery I’d say after a week I was able to do most things myself xx

I’ve just had my second planned section and it went amazingly. I’m currently two weeks post partum and I’m in no pain. This week I’ve been in the park with my toddler and going to playground with him. The first 3/4 days you’ll be sore but keep on top of painkillers and you’ll be fine. Just rest when you can as this will help recovery x
