Muslins. Think you have enough then double the number...

- A gazillion burp clothes. Seriously, a lot. You'll go through them quickly. - Swaddles. Get a couple types to try out, every baby is different. We liked the Halos. - A butt spatula was life changing. - As a newborn, my son mostly used PJs. I highly prefer the ones with double zippers (opens easily from the bottom for diaper changes). - Some basic infant meds so you have them at hand should they need it. Mylicon was a necessity for us at the newborn stage. - Some stuff for mama! Peri bottle, maxi pads, comfortable panties (look for C-section friendly ones just in case), reusable ice packs for perineum and nipples, etc.

Get the newborn size clothes. I didn’t get enough of those and my baby was 9lbs and the 0-3months are big on him.

All the things for your bedroom for the beginning months when baby sleeps in your room. I definitely focused too much on his nursery not really thinking about the fact that they recommend the baby sleeps in your room for the first 6 months -A good chair in your room for feeding (for both bottle and breastfeeding) -some kind of bassinet/crib; we just used our pack n play but wish we invested in one of the bedside bassinets -a changing table for your bedroom. This was a lifesaver for us so we didn’t have to go into the nursery with the baby every time he woke up in the middle of the night. We just used the changing table attachment for our pack n play but they also sell portable changing tables.
