Opting for a c section first time panicky mum

Hi All, I’m currently just over 26 weeks pregnant and I’m looking for some advice. I’m a very fainty/often feel nauseous with very large amounts of panic. I’m currently thinking of having a planned c section to hopefully avoid this a little. I also have low Papp- a so know there could be chance of induction, which could then result in an emergency c section. Has anyone got any advice or experience? I really can’t decide but am heading more towards thinking a planned section might be the best option for me?! Thank you so much! Xx

I had an emergency c-section because my daughter’s shoulder were too wide for my canal and my body wouldn’t dilate past 8. If you have the option to plan the c-section I would take it because speaking from my personal experience going in (induced or not) thinking that your gonna do things normal then they come in saying “we’re gonna have to do an emergency c-section” is the scariest words I’ve heard. I was in a panic (I also never had a surgery in my life before this) if you can plan the c-section I would it’s better and less traumatic knowing what you’re in for rather than that surprise announcement.

I live in a country where I don't speak the language, and I wanted some control, so I opted for a planned c section. My mum had a traumatic birth with me, and my sister had to have an emergency c section as she stopped dilating at 9cm so this was another reason why I chose it. Baby girl decided to come 5 weeks early and although I couldn't prepare the when, going into hospital knowing how I would deliver made me a lot less panicked and I was up walking around the day after. (Obviously, I don't advise that at all, but I had to go to sort out visa work!) I think if you are mentally prepared, you recover easier though xx

I had a emergency and planned and the planned c section was so calm you go in sit relax until your called walk down to therta your allowed music pictures videos whatever you want within reason they take there time talking you through everything relax you it's not rushed they check on you constantly I think it was every 2 hrs for me they give you pain relief you can ask all the questions you like to then to x

I had low Papp a of 0.27 and have had absolutely no problems with growth of baby right up until now (39 weeks). There is no evidence that induction is beneficial with low Papp A if growth and placental function etc everything else normal. Plenty of women will never even know they have low Papp A and still have totally healthy pregnancies and birth. Doesn’t hurt to follow the growth and watch out for any warning signs but not sure low Papp A itself means you need an induction… at least that’s what my midwife told me
