gel induction

I was induced by gel at 39 weeks, I was 1 cm dilated. I went to the hospital during the night because I had high blood pressure and they decided to induce me. They applied the gel around 2 am. They kept telling me that I will probably need another application the next day, however it worked right away. I had contractions 30 minutes after the application and I gave birth the same day around 10pm. Honestly, at first it wasn’t the best, because when they applied it I felt like I had to go to the bathroom but you have to stay lying down for 1 hour after the application, so it was awkward, but apart from that I had a great experience with it.

38+4 gel at 9pm was 1cm. 2am was at 2cm. 9am broke waters. 11am induction IV drip. 1pm still at 2cm. 3:30pm 6-7cm. 3:45pm 10cm and pushing!! 3:56pm baby born! This was my 3rd and my first full induction and was my best labour for sure!!! Wish I had done it for my others. Hope it goes well for you too! GLx

Mine was slow I would say but still a great experience, I wouldn’t change it at all ❤️ first gel on Monday eve, second gel Tuesday morning, waters broke Wednesday morning and baby born Thursday morning! Home Friday ❤️

I had the balloon for 24 hours, 2 lots of gel over 12 hours and 10 hours on the drip and ended up having a c section as he wouldn't budge haha

@Lauren that wat im afraid will happen, they doing gel induction on monday but my cervix is close so worried the induction won’t work x

I went in for induction on Sunday at 10am, ended up being 46 hours of induction until 7:55pm on Tuesday when they cut him out. It's not always bad for everyone though. I opted for the c section in the end as I couldn't cope with it anymore. Plenty of positive experiences too

I was given the gel at 3cm with my first girl. It was inserted at 5am by early afternoon I was cramping. At 9pm I was having contractions was really uncomfortable and nauseous. Was told I was still 3cm but fully soft and she could feel baby’s head so I was booked to have my water’s broken the following morning. I had a sleep for about 2 hours and woke up at midnight (new year) fully contracting every few min. Midwives kept telling me it was too soon that inductions take days etc was told to go for a bath at 5:30am, felt the need to push was told I need a poo so screamed at the to check me my this point it was close to 7am and I was taken to delivery as an emergency because her head was right there. No time for gas and air and she was born in her waters. 2nd I had the gel again, was about 1cm told them my history so they thought I would go quick. Had it inserted at 10:30am was cramping by 1:30pm. Went for a walk had lunch etc and at 3:30pm my waters broke baby born at 5:40pm
