I was told I could drive before then if i felt up to it, but to check my insurance would cover me. You just have to make sure you can do an emergency stop...

@Cat I rang my insurance and they was like you need to ask dvla I’ve asked dvla and they said it’s nothing they wouldn’t cover me for as my medical condition isn’t over 3 months x

My doctor told me I was okay to drive after 2 weeks as long as I wasn't taking my opioids

I was never told I couldn't drive. And both parents who are nurses both agreed as long as you can make an emergency stop it's perfectly safe to drive

I drove after 2 weeks (automatic car)

Thanks ladies I think I’m going to drive I’m getting fed up of not being able to drive even though I feel more than capable of doing it, it’s 6 weeks this Sunday so just gonna take the jump and drive cx

Check what the rules are with your insurance. If they say you doctors advice go get signed off. That’s what I have done. Driving before 4 weeks post op x

My doctor told me as long as I felt I could do an emergency stop then i could drive, there was no time frame as to when you could drive again

@Charlotte I rang them hun and explained and the women literally just said oh you need to ring dvla and check with them I checked with them and they said because the medical condition doesn’t affect me over 3 months they don’t need to be made aware x

Drove at 3.5 weeks. With my partner to see if I was comfortable. Felt safer than when I was pregnant. GP said it was up to me, DVLA & insurance said the same ☺️

Oh yeah I drove at 3 weeks post op. I never had any pain after my section so called my insurance who said I was fine aslong as I felt fine in myself and had spoken to a doctor. X

You are close enough… it’s more to do with seatbelt opening the wound in emergency stop than anything else!

Ok so i broke the rules heavily and drove a week after but i really dont recommend this at all. I needed to leave the house and de stress, had alot of pp stress and that was my only route. Took the car to the nearest mcdonalds and sat in the parking lot and cried for a hour haha

I'm 4 weeks pp and just started driving again. Midwife told me it just depends on how you feel in yourself and what the terms of your insurance are. My insurance has no rules around it so as soon as I felt up to it I started driving again.

I drove myself home from the hospital after my c-section. I also drive my bf to and from work daily Monday to Friday. I'm 5 weeks PP
