Contractions or cramps?

I’ve been feeling cramps (mild to pretty strong sometimes) and constant lower back ache for a few days now. I’ve tried all the natural remedies like dates, raspberry leaf tea, curb walking, stair laterals and even baby daddy so I’m thinking it’s early labour? How can I decipher a cramp from a contraction though? Do they feel the same as they are pretty painful sometimes! I have had some mucus plug come out too I think.

I’m in the same boat I’ve been having labor like symptoms for about a week now and I’m 39 weeks along no baby yet but I think it means it’s coming soon!!

Contractions build from light period type cramps. Could well be early labour. Ride the sensations, have a warm bath, move, sleep, do what feels right and call the maternity triage line when you can’t talk through them/need reassurance. Keep an eye on baby’s movements and any concerns call the line. Same with any heavy bleeding. Some blood streaking the mucousy show is fine.

Mine felt different, my contractions felt like a rope being tied around my uterus and someone’s pulling it tighter and tighter, holding it there, and then they begin to release it

It’s honestly really hard to tell, people describe things differently. My contractions were like cramps. Started as mild period cramps, then sort of felt like upset stomach cramps. When they got to a 8/10 they def were more than “cramps” but still in the same category if that makes sense.
