Being induced

Hi does being induced hurt? I would imagine the membrane sweep must hurt or be uncomfortable?? I’m about 34 almost 35 weeks and im starting to think about the possibility of being induced in a month or so but I do so bad with physical discomforts (thanks asd!! 🙃)

Hey! So I got induced at 37weeks and 5days. I decided to get induced with medication first, but had literally no progress even after 5 doses. I was left with no option other than the folley bulb. While the placing does not hurt that much, when it starts expanding inside it hurts a lot. I had to take pain medication. If you don’t do so well with physical discomfort, then I’d suggest you keep an open mind to pain medication. Good luck with your induction and delivery 💖

With my first I was induced so I showed up at the hospital for induction and I wasn't dilated yet so they gave me 8 rounds of the ripening med and that didn't help. So I got an epidural and they broke my water and started pitocin. The epidural hurt at first but once I got the meds it helped. Also the IV in the beginning isn't fun but once it's in you won't feel pain and same with the epidural. After I got the epidural and they broke my water things went pretty fast I went from 2 cm to 10 in about 45 minutes (everyone is different) Also all I could feel is the pressure from baby but definitely no pain or discomfort after the epidural. Feel free to message me if you would like. I'm currently pregnant with baby girl number 3 so it's not my first rodeo

I was induced at 37 weeks (September 17th). The induction itself didn't hurt. My contractions were manageable with the pain meds. My epidural wasn't very effective so the contractions at the end were pretty bad, but leading up to that was fine. I did end up with an emergency c-section due to complications. My baby's heartrate dropped and wouldn't go back up. I didn't have a membrane sweep. My induction was with a Cook's Catheter. It's a tube with a balloon on both ends. The balloons are inflated after the catheter is placed in the cervix. It helps you dilate. And we did pitocin to start increase my contractions. Feel free to ask me questions if you have any.

I honestly don't recommend it, I was induced at 39weeks and I was in labor for almost 3days. Ended up getting an epidural because I couldn't stand the pain, I was just exhausted you don't get to rest either and when you do your either woken up from contractions, nurses or just uncomfortable in general

I had 3 inductions. 2 were medical, the last one I wanted it. I loved mine. I never got a membrane sweep so nothing was painful for me except contractions of course lol. I was induced at 39, 37, and 39 weeks. My longest labor was 12hrs from the time I sat on the bed until I had her lol so not bad and that was my 37 weeker

I was induced at 39+6, was scheduled for an induction on due date but went into labor the morning before and because I wasn’t dilating they induced me. I had the balloon and pitocin but due to being a VBAC I had to get the epidural asap incase things were to turn bad. I didn’t feel anything after the epidural and I was so blessed. I had a sweep at 39 and it didn’t hurt or feel uncomfortable to me. Contractions hurt soooo bad tho. I had prodromal labor starting at 37 weeks tho. I labored for 28 hours, 19 of those in the hospital

If you do badly with physical discomfort I have bad news for you about labour... For me the sweep was absolutely fine/painless. I didn't get any further types of induction.

@Samantha I don’t think being induced or natural is different. I was in labor for 3 days too and the pain was intense since it started so I didn’t sleep at all also because I was contracting like every 6 mins. I had a natural birth btw

@Ericka dude she can do whatever she wants. Gtfo seriously
