Cervical Cerclage

Haven’t had one but out of interest, could you share what prompted the cerclage? Did you have a sudden change in symptoms? X

I had an emergency one at 22 weeks. It was successful… came out at 36 weeks and I carried until 38+6 There’s a “Short Cervix” group on here too x

@Vivian I went to hospital with more discharge then normal it was my mucus plug i then got examined and was 1cm dilated so had the cerclage via emergency surgery x

I had a preventative cerclage put in at 12 weeks because of a previous pregnancy loss due to cervical incompetence that was caught too late. I have a short cervix which is the reason i will need a Cerclage every pregnancy. They took it out at 36 weeks and my Baby girl was induced at 39 weeks 🥰 the removal process was done in office no medication pain was a 6/10 and everything was fine after that . Things to note . I did do progesterone vaginally from week 16 forward until cerclage removal, I abstained from sex the whole pregnancy , and at week 28 I went from working full time to part time bc I was getting regular tightening on my belly when I did too much activity,My doctor said i wouldn’t have to change my activity level but the nurse who called me weekly for check up said the tightening could turn to PTL so I chose to be cautious and reduce my work hours .
