Sterilisation

I'm having a planned c section and have booked to be sterilised at the same time. I have been warned that if I go into labour beforehand and end up having c section earlier that they may/may not do the sterilisation etc. I get it's cause of time etc but intrigued if this has happened to anyone else and if you were still sterilised?

I think it depends if you have already a signed consent form for CS + sterilisation or not, as if you need an emergency CS because you are in labour they can't "legally" consent you for sterilisation in an emergency situation so if you dont have your signed consent form prior they wouldn't be able to do the sterilisation (even if you verbally give your consent)

@Anais my c section is all planned and booked in with the sterilisation. They don't give date until the week before but has all be done over phone. Not been asked to sign anything. Is this usually done on the day of planned c section?

Not sure, I think maybe it depends from hospital to hospital, they either get you to sign the consent form a while before during one of your appointments (and you have to confirm your consent on the day of CS) or they get you to sign your consent form on the day of your CS
