Induction - Thoughts? Positive Experiences?

I’m 41 weeks today and have an induction tentatively planned for Monday. Thus far, baby’s size and heart rate are OK. He’s presenting downward, but posterior position and doesn’t seem to want to rotate to an anterior position. Last week I was 4/5 engaged and this week he’s shifted to 3/5. Has anyone opted for an elective (non medically driven) induction after 41 weeks and has had a positive experience to share?

This is me! 41 weeks today, induction booked for Monday and baby posterior. Heads engaged, 2cm dilated. I have considered an elective because I have been getting anxious about labour.

Sorry it's not an answer to your question, but have you tried the spinning babies exercises and prepping for birth exercises to help the baby to get in position? X

I'm not sure what I will do when Monday comes. I have tried everything I possibly could to get the baby to move, including all the exercises on the spinning babies website.

Likewise, I’ve done the same… I’ve been walking & standing as much as possible throughout the day and doing various exercises on my birthing ball as well. That said, I had debilitating SI joint pain from 34 weeks that only improved around week 37ish after seeing a chiropractor, which I’ve still been seeing.

I tried EVERYTHING to make baby come but nothing worked! I was induced at 41+3, had my waters broken and started the hormone drip as my contractions didn't start within 4 hours. It was extremely painful so I opted for an epidural! Best thing ever in my opinion! I then had a VBAC and a really positive birth!

@Rebecca How long was the induction process for you from the start to labour beginning?

I've had such bad SI joint pain too, awful isn't it! I'm hypermobile so mine started early on- all the pregnancy yoga, birthing ball and prep for birth exercises have been very helpful though along with a few visits to the hospital physio and a bit of Bowen therapy too. It's been unbearable since the baby fully engaged though, I really want him out now! But I really categorically don't want epidural or hormone drip which makes me not want to start down the path of any induction procedures 😣 x
