My biggest advise is to take it easy for the first few weeks. It’s incredible how quickly you can feel “ok” and the desire to do stuff is real. But trust me, don’t over do it. Also a top tip would be to have a comfy spot set up for when you’re feeding/cuddling baby. Pillows for support to help you not slump. The day of, prepare yourself for it to feel weird your body going numb. The entire c section process was so fine but the only bit that weirded me out was that and I’m really glad a friend told me to prepare myself for it. You’ll be totally fine and the staff are so lovely and will make you feel super comfortable. Take it easy, let people around you take care of you and the best of luck xx

Agree with all of the above. I drove down the road 3 weeks after mine and suffered all the next day because of it! Also prepare for the shakes, not everyone gets them but it really freaked me out during the section even though I knew I could get them. Also when they lower the amount of meds you’re on through the section, it can drop your blood pressure. They’re well aware of this and can fix it asap so don’t panic! Mine dropped a million times, I didn’t even feel any different they were that quick at reacting to it! Lastly, buy the Tena disposable underwear. Absolute life saver.

Say yes to all the pain killers they offer you, paracetamol and ibuprofen won’t cut it so make sure they keep you topped up with the strong stuff, you should not be in significant pain at all. I had achey period pain type tummy ache for the first couple of days but nothing a hot water bottle and strong pain killers couldn’t fix. You will be asked over and over during recovery if you’ve passed wind or had a bowel movement (!) as trapped wind and constipation is an issue. Drink as much peppermint tea as you can stomach and sip peppermint oil diluted in water. They should offer you stool softeners and laxatives, TAKE THEM! When you first stand up after the section (you recover feeling in your legs remarkably quickly it’s amazing) you will feel a little odd, I had a dragging sensation in my abdomen like my insides were falling out (they weren’t 😂) Just go super slowly and you’ll be great ♥️

Best thing I ever did but agree with be careful. I felt okay so started doing more and set myself back a few weeks. Should of been careful for a few more weeks
