Membrane Sweep

My doctor gave me the option for a membrane sweep on Wednesday, I'll be 39.5 weeks. Has anyone else got this done, and how long until you went into labor? How painful was it? I'm so nervous!

I had a membrane sweep with my first, two times. It didn’t help me go into labor any sooner imo. I declined it with my second baby and will be declining again with the one I’m currently pregnant with

I had it done at about 39 weeks and it didn’t make me go into labor but that doesn’t mean it won’t help you. It was mildly painful but didn’t take long. I would say if you’re ready to get that baby out then it doesn’t hurt to try it 🤷🏼‍♀️

I got a membrane sweep when I was 39 weeks and two days so it was on a Tuesday and I went into labor early that Saturday morning at 1 am I’m not sure if it helped or not

I was in very early labor when I went in for my 39 wk appt and my doctor offered me a membrane sweep to “move things along”. I felt more comfortable just letting my body do its thing so I declined. Like others have shared, I’ve heard sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. I think ultimately you have to do what you feel the most comfortable with 🙏🏽
