Labor?

This might be a dumb question, but I’m having mild contractions that are fitting within the 5-1-1 rule according to my app. BUT they are not super strong yet. Should I be going to the doctor or should I be waiting for them to get stronger? I also can’t for the life of me tell if my water is slowly leaking or if it’s just discharge… I am supposed to work in the morning and I don’t want to screw over my coworkers by calling in to work when it’s a 💩show right now (Western NC), but obviously I need to worry about myself. I just don’t want to be dramatic if this isn’t something to worry about yet.

I’d call your OB and see what they say. Have you had alot of leaky water discharge when you stand?

Like small amounts but new discharge?

I feel like I had something similar yet nights ago and my OB told me to walk around and do stuff and see if more comes out. It could be a slow leak. They recommended me coming in and then they could test if it’s amniotic fluid or not. But either way of call your OB and they can tell you what they recommend you do

@Kaitlyn I haven’t really moved around a lot since it’s so early in the morning and I have to work tomorrow. To be honest, though, I’ve been having so much discharge lately that it would be hard to tell a difference either way, I think. (Gross to share, I’m sorry!)

I would call your provider or the L&D triage line. They might have you come in to test for amniotic fluid. It might be annoying but if your fluid is leaking they'll admit you because it can be dangerous to go too long after the bag is ruptured due to risk of infection. Better to be safe than sorry!

I’d probably still call your OB night line and see what they say

You don’t wants to risk infection of going into labor at work!

what’s the 511 rule? i jus had false labor the other days

@Jazmyn 5 minutes apart, 1 minute long, for at least 1 hour!

thank you!

Update: My waters did not break and the contractions stopped for a couple of hours. I went to work and they started back up, my waters ended up breaking, and I had my baby boy 9 days early 🥰
