Stop/start contractions

Has anyone else had contractions start and stop? Mine were every 9 minutes for around 2-3 hours last night and around midnight just stopped. I got some sleep but was hoping things were happening for us! With my first baby everything gradually got more intense so not sure how normal it is for it to just stop!? Baby is moving fine still. X

I was just about to post this same thing. Last night l had a sweep and had what I can only assume were contractions or I hope they were as they were so painful. Then around midnight it stopped and I went to sleep woke up with nothing 😞

I had this from Saturday night all thru till 6am. They were every 5-6 mins at one point. Once I got up for the day they vanished. That happened on and off until Monday midnight. At that point I was so fed up I got up and started doing movements - pelvic tilts, dip the hips, abdominal lift and tuck to try and get the contractions to stay. Which they did, then was in full blown labour. It’s really tough and such a mind game but I do think movement can trigger them. Good luck xx

I had this at 39+4 one night at 3AM. After I went back to sleep they stopped and did not have them since. And I am 41 weeks today 🥲

This can happen if baby isn’t in a great position contractions have to work first to move baby to a better position before working to make baby decend and cervix dialate. Take a look at spinning babies. Belly map first if you don’t have a good idea where baby is then look at the page that corresponds to babies position and it will give you moves you can do to help baby get in a better position (some you can do on your own some you need a partner for). Hopefully you can get your labor going smoothly! 🥰

I had terrible false labour contractions on Monday and Tuesday and still no baby. Both occasions seem to be triggered by too much movement. Baby is moving fine. I had them for about 5 hours on Monday and 12 hours on Tuesday. They were a couple minutes each and about a minute apart so I was starting to think something was happening! I knew I wasn’t in labour because I had a consultation with the ob on the Monday and she checked me out. I’d equate them to very early labour ones I had with my son but they didn’t intensify over time and didn’t spread to/from my back. (Plus haven’t had any other symptoms) With my first I had a prolonged labour and they stopped for about 12hrs before starting up again the next day, so I think they can stop and start in early labour.

Omg yes this is is exactly what’s happening to me right now you’re not alone! I lost my plug about a week and a half ago now and for the past 3 days I’ve been feeling the exact same, getting frequent contractions for hours and then nothing and each time they come back they feel slightly more intense and I’m getting the most ridiculous amount of pressure in my lady garden feels like it’s about to explode😅 People around me keep telling me to time my contractions but it’s virtually impossible with the irregularity of them, I’m thinking it’s latent (slow) labour. I hope everything goes well for you and labour comes for you soon
