Contracting but not in labour

Hello All, I have been taken into hospital due to having tightenings every 8-10 mins but my cervix is close but the monitor is showing that my womb is contracting. I was just wondering if anyone has had this before?

I'm currently experiencing the same! The contractions are slightly further apart for me, and I also get the occasional bad one where its all in my back and everything! But I'm completely closed😭 just been told to deal with it and look out for changes. How far along are you?

I went to triage today as I was having horrendous tightenings, pain in my back and lots of nausea. Monitor showed tightenings but they said they were braxton hicks! I was told they shouldn’t hurt but assured them they deffo do 😂 Currently laid on the sofa with hot water bottles on my back still having them! I’m 35+3 xo

@Christina I am hoping they will let me go home tomorrow.. I’m 34 weeks.

I had this a few weeks ago at 31weeks. Contracting every 4-5minutes but waters hadn’t gone and cervix was closed. Kept in hospital for 3 days for monitoring and the contractions eventually stopped

I’ve been in hospital a whole week because of this. Also had bleeding, tested positive for preterm labour, then tested negative for preterm labour. Had really painful tightening me regularly and period cramps, lost my mucus plug and had bleeding and now went home with the same tightenings I went in with 😭 make it make sense!!

I was in last night with the same issue however went in due to reduced movements then was having contractions. They checked my cervix via speculum and it’s soft but closed. This is my third baby in just under 4 years, youngest being 3 1/2 and middle is 15 months so I’m expecting to maybe go a little earlier! I don’t mind if I don’t as this is my last baby and soaking every second up even if I do feel “done” with pregnancy 😩🥲
