I had the balloon after 4 different hormonal induction methods failed to work, and it was the only induction method (other than the hormone drip) that helped me dilate. I didn't find it too painful to have it fitted, and it was only a little uncomfortable while it was in. I had it fitted around 11pm on the Sunday, and it fell out on its own by 1pm on the Monday. I didn't get to meet my daughter until the Thursday evening (but that was mainly due to staffing issues in my hospital and emergencies). Good luck with the induction❤️ It won't be long till you're holding your little one!

I had the balloon fitted on Friday morning and little one was born Monday night. But this was due to no beds avaliable. It was fine being fitted but they can give you gas and air if you need it. Mine fell out around 2pm Saturday afternoon meaning I was 4cm dilated. I was then brought in Sunday night to have my waters broke which was fine no pain with it at all. I had the hormone drip up to the max level due to my body just not dilating at all lol ( I was being induced 3 weeks early so feel like I just wasn't ready) mine ended in an unplanned c section but I would honestly go through it all again. Everything was very calm

Good luck Martine.

Oh also can see your from Belfast too. I was induced up in the Royal if you are too. They are great up there, only shite thing was the waiting for a bed.. it's hectic and busy up there

Hey I had the balloon in July, was fitted on Thursday and came out as meant to that night, was advised we should get a bed the following day (Friday) and to wait at home for a call, we had to wait until the Monday!! This was at RVH belfast. Waters were then broken and 20hr labour on the drip. The issue is the wait for room
