I had my first baby in pandemic times so I did eeeeverything alone, but just suddenly had a thought... what's the norm for antenatal appointments, do dads usually go along too?

My husband went to every appointment with me! lol

They usually allow them in to all appointments and scans but will ask the dad/your partner to leave for 5 sometimes so they can speak to you alone and make sure there’s no dv or anything like that going on and just generally making sure your happy

How do I find classes. It’s a bloody nightmare. I’m 12 weeks on Monday

@Catherine I went to online ones which are free on ‘baby academy’ You can pay for some classes there too but they offer a wide range for free! I learnt a lot about bathing, cord, rashes ect

Thanks everyone! Be nice for him to be a bit more involved this time 😊 @Catherine I'm not sure about antenatal classes actually, I was just referring to appointments, but in my notes there are a load of QR codes for online classes, so if you've not got your notes yet you'll probably get given them at your scan appointment and then you can access those

Dads can come but my partner only came to the important ones x

Oh brilliant @Becky I may do that then

My partner only came to scans, midwife appointments were just the usual checks on me so no reason for him to come x

@Catherine they always say ‘for a limited time only’ but its always free on there!

Where did you say it was free again. Is there a link?

@Catherine https://mybabyacademy.co.uk/free-class/free-baby-care-class/ They have multiple free online classes you can do! Its done by Health Visitors

I had my baby in Covid times and the dad was only allowed to the dating scan and gender scan and then birth
