C Section instead of Induction

Just after some advice, I see a lot about getting/being offered Induction early if you have GD, are you ever offered a C Section early? Does anyone have any experience of this or know if it's an option? Thanks in advance x

Following as I was about to ask the same!

If they advise you to go early you have the choice of either. Same as if you want to have an elective c section for any other reason

I went in to be induced at 38 weeks due to GD and 2 failed inductions later I had an c section x

C section is usually offered for 39 weeks induction 37/38. I had the option but wanted vbac but ended in c section. Will be going straight for c section next time x

i literally had my consultant appointment today after a 34w growth scan. they said they schedule elective sections at 39w and won’t put it any earlier unless there is an immediate risk to mum and/or baby. hope this helps? xx

I was offered an induction at 37 weeks. I’d heard a lot of horror stories about it so chose a C-section and the experience was incredible! Would definitely recommend a C-section!

They offered me elective c section or induction if I go over 40+3. I said no to a c section, because I already had a c section with my first and never want to go through this again. Hopefully, neither will be necessary though.

Elective c section at 38 weeks . Very smooth and mentally relaxing. Recovery was quick. Only challenge was getting out of the bed for a week and needed help. You don’t realise how much you use your core muscles until you have a surgery like this.

@Kira thank you!

Thank you everyone x

Currently 33 weeks and I've been offered induction at 36 weeks as I quite high risk due to an existing medical condition and GD, if not then a c-section at 37 weeks. Baby is measuring quite big and Theyre worried if baby gets any bigger it could be a risk for me and baby
