New born constipation

I think my new born is constipated, she keeps going bright red and trying to push a poo out but her nappies clean. Any recommendations that can help her?

Talk to her pediatrician and try grip water

My newborn is 3 weeks old and has been constipated since he was around 3 days old. We went to the doctors and A&E and have been told it’s just his digestive system adjusting and him learning how to push basically. It’s frustrating to watch your baby in pain and breaks your heart however they told me there’s nothing they can do as he just needs to learn and they can go up to 7 days without pooing. I messaged my health visitor and she assured me that it’s completely normal and to look up infant dyschezia xx

Tummy massage, nice warm bath have always worked for us x

Same as Abi. Tummy massage, warm compress/hot water bottle

If you’re breastfeeding, it seems like it MAY have worked for me, me drinking prune juice and then her getting it from the breast milk it seems it may have worked🙈 We tried all the massages in the world and bath every night etc but that’s what it seems to have worked…
