Which hospital?

I have currently chosen Scunthorpe as my birthing hospital but have heard good things about Grimsby. Both have requires improvement ratings and the same recommendations for improvements in the maternity wards, so looking to hear real and recent experiences at either hospital. We’re not from the area so don’t know which one to choose.

I believe partners can’t stay the night at Scunthorpe which was a big deciding factor for us! Grimsby you get your own private room and partners can stay the entire time

I gave birth at grimsby last December and they were great. And my Husband was able to stay with me for the 4 nights I was in...although they'll have to share your bed or the chair 😛

I lived in Grimsby… and choose to give birth in Sheffield with my 3rd son…After massive complications with my 2nd son… Sheffield are amazing x

I live in between Scunthorpe and Grimsby and chose Grimsby because you get your own room and bathroom rather than going on a ward. The midwives and experience was good for us.

I’m from hull, the care here was appalling and couldn’t get a bed, was severely at risk and had to go to Grimsby! I would have ALL of my children there, the care was outstanding

I've given birth at both... and both have different pros.. scunthorpe doesn't have beds for partners BUT have steriliser facilities, and vice versa for grimsby.. I chose scunthorpe purely because I labour quick and it's closer to me than grim

I gave birth at Grimsby and it was amazing, the staff were incredible and we got our own room all week and my partner could stay 24/7 xx
