Bath time tips?

My baby is 13 months old now, he hates it when i wash his hair. He cries the second his hair is wet and he gets terrified. I tried washing it when he is in the bath and when he is out of the bath (his dad holds him in the towel after the bath and i wash it like he is at the hair salon, if that makes sense) he still cries sooo bad. I dont know how to make him ok with it. I hate to see him cry like that 😢 any tips or tricks??

My 12month old is mostly okay with washing her hair, but when she does throw tantrums, I usually try to breastfeed her and while she is at it I wash her hair like at the hair salon. Its possible that the flow of water is scaring him. Maybe try putting water little by little very slowly.

Is he generally comfortable with baths? Ours hated the water and then we started letting her lead instead of forcing her. Like slowly letting her choose to put her hands into the faucet stream. Now she loves water! We also shower with her so she sees us in there too.

I do what @Afreen does. Sit on the edge of tub with my legs inside, and wash while baby nurses. I even started putting my thick, soft spa headband on baby to be super sure no water drips down

Find object or toy that sparks their interest. My husband will take off the metal shower curtain hanger for example. He’ll how our son the hanger and then slowly move it so it goes over his shoulder and out of reach. This naturally makes him look over his shoulder. Dad is holding him in the shower during all this and then will step towards the water to rise our son’s hair.

I’d try using a warm wet washcloth in that case and acclimate baby to the process instead of pouring water on his head. Potentially he got water or even soap in his eyes once and it hurt

My daughter loves bath time but hates getting her hair washed. I’ll use a wet wash cloth to get her hair wet and to rinse out the soap and that definitely keeps her more calm then pouring water over her head.

I get in the bath with my girl and she is more relaxed about it.

He might have an ear infection. My baby did that when she had an ear infection!
