in Barnsley
Baby #2
Hey girlies, I’ve just found out I’m expecting baby #2 which is super exciting, however, my first baby wasn’t born at Barnsley and we actually lived in Derbyshire when I was pregnant the first time. So a couple of questions:
1. Can anyone recommend anywhere in Barnsley where we can get an early viability scan?
2. What are peoples opinions on the midwives etc in Barnsley? I’m registered at Mapplewell doctors surgery for reference.
3. Would you all recommend Barnsley hospital to give birth or not? Heard mixed reviews and want to start having options sooner rather than later 🥰

From my experience, I can’t recommend Barnsley enough. I’m hoping for Baby #2 myself and I’d be more than happy to go to Barnsley again.

Congratulations on baby #2! I had an early viability scan with my daughter at Ultrasound Direct on Wilthorpe Rd near Vets4Pets. They were brilliant, the ladies who work there were all lovely and put my mind at ease. I was registered with the Doctors surgery at Cudworth but I had a few midwives that I spoke to throughout my pregnancy and just after, I had no issues with any of them. They were all lovely and they were more than happy to answer all of my questions. As for giving birth at Barnsley Hospital, I had a very positive experience from start to finish. The midwives talked me through every step, kept me informed, were very supportive. I felt reassured and confident about everything. They made me feel comfortable to be around them too, nothing felt awkward. The staff after my birth were very good too, again explaining why they needed to do everything that they did, made time to answer all of my questions and nothing was too much much trouble.
