How much did your babies weigh?

Had a growth scan today and they told me baby is roughly estimated at 8lb 10oz - I am now petrified to give birth 😳 ( I know that the estimates can be off)

They’re never accurate tbh, they told me my eldest would be “well over 10lb” he came 39+5 at 7lb 9oz, they told me my middle child stopped growing at 34 weeks and would be mega tiny, she came after induction at 37+4 weighing 6lb 13oz and my youngest was also told he’d be a big baby and he came after induction at 38+4 weighing 6lb 8oz. Don’t listen to them :) x

@Phoebe-grace Thankyou!!!

8lb 10oz sounds like a perfect weight! I know it probably seems daunting but I think the 10oz throws you off making baby seem massive because of the double didgits compared to one that’s 8lb 9oz but I wish you a healthy birth and labour regardless!! Xx

If it makes you feel any better, my boyo was born 10 days ago weighing 8 pound 14 and he was a 4 and a half hour gas and air labour, so straight forward and recovery has been better than that of my 7 pound 3 oz daughter 3 years ago xx

scan estimated her to be 8lb 2oz at 40 weeks, she arrived 2 days later weighing 8lb 1oz! my active labour was 1 hour and i pushed for 10 mins, unmedicated, no tearing at all, very easy birth😊

@Abby did you do anything to help your birth be that quick and no tearing?? Congratulations also!! 🥳 I’m scared but I’m hoping for a similar birth 🥺

@Evie Thankyou 🤍

@Ellie Grace Thankyou , first baby and just feeling quite nervous 🤍

@Abby Thankyou so much!!

My little girl was measuring 8lb3 at 39 weeks and was born 40+4 weighing 7lb15 Much easier and quicker birth than my son who was 7lb and only had gas and air. I was also terrified, but try not to worry and hope all goes well for you xx

@Evie i honestly think it’s just because it’s my second baby and seconds tend to be really quick😅 but i drank raspberry leaf tea religiously from 33 weeks. and while in the early phase of labour i did LOTS of walking and bouncing on the ball. wishing you the best, you will be fine! xx

@Abby thank you!! I’ve been so bad at keeping up with the tea I started and then quickly got sick of it 😭 but I’m due tomorrow but no signs of baby yet!! I’m praying he comes out fast and easy but I’m absolutely terrified as he’s my first xx

My boy was 9lb 2 x

Just had a 9lb12oz and she was way easier than my 8lb14oz son 😂 apparently bigger is easier 🤷‍♀️ she was natural with only gas and air on pushing. Your body is amazing and can do amazing things.. did hurt a little tho 😂

Gave birth to a 10lb baby at home cause the hospital underestimated how far along in labour I was and sent me back. She was out in 3 pushes and I only had a minuscule tear

They were spot on to the ounce with my first. With this one, they said she was 6lb 10 at a 39 week scan and was born 6lb 7 at 42 weeks so obviously not correct

They arnt accurate. I had a growth scan at 37 weeks estimated 6lb 6oz I had him 9 days later and came out at 6lb 6oz. Take the scan with a pinch of salt 💙

my son was 8 pounds 9oz and was the easiest labour by far! pushed for 3 minutes, no tearing and a very straight forward recovery it was a breeze! honestly i wouldn’t worry at all🤍

My baby was estimated on the 92nd percentile. A week before I gave birth estimated 8lbs2oz. He came out 7lb7oz on 52nd percentile two days before I was due for an induction

We got told at 37 weeks, baby was measuring 9lbs 7, then got induced which ended in emergency c section at 39 weeks 2 days and he ended up weighing 8lbs 9 💜

My 38+4 scan estimated 8lb 14oz and she was born at 39+4 at 10lb!! So the scan was probably pretty accurate in our case. I had an elective c-section (for other reasons) so can't comment on the birth. But she's perfect 🥰

6lb 9oz I was told she was going to be 8lbs 😆
