EDD

Does anyone else think their due date is wrong. At my 12 week scan I was dated 13+3 which I believe is a week and a bit forward. I’ve counted back to my last period and used the NHS website to calculate it. The website is saying the 29th and the scan is saying the 22nd. Anyway, I’ve declined my sweep today as it could make me 38 instead of 39 weeks. Has anyone else been in the same position?? 🤍🥹❤️🩷💙

i don’t think it’s wrong just as peoples cycles line up differently and the baby grows as the cycle goes on if that makes sense? i’m not sure how to word it but at least you went with your gut x

I understand what you mean, but that’s just how due dates are calculated. As Cody has said, it’s down to baby growth and this obviously changes throughout the pregnancy anyway. It’s always just an ESTIMATED due date. Interestingly, for my 1st born, the initial due date as per LMP was 3/4/23. At my 12 week scan they calculated it to be 31/3/23 so 4 days earlier. Guess what, she was born on the 3/4/23! All just a coincidence of course. The way it’s going right now, that could be the way this pregnancy is going too!

Me!!! I was tracking my cycles with natural cycles using thermometer and LH strips and it was really obvious my LH surge came and then my temperature went up so I knew the exact day I ovulated. This put me at due date 3rd October, then my 12 week scan said they measured him at 13 weeks so brought his due date a whole week forward. But they can be out by a week in accuracy anyway, but I’m the same as you they’re already talking to me about sweeps and inductions and I’m nervous they’ll pressure me into things before he’s ready due to this. I’m just going to stand my ground as long as me and bubs continue to be growing happy and healthy ☺️

If you know when you ovulated, then u got the answer Xx

@Amy the exact same thing happened to me! I was also using natural cycles with the LH strips so I know exactly when I ovulated and there’s no way it was a whole week earlier. In my mind I’m still thinking of my due date as the one from the app and not the one from the scan. I’m convinced this baby is gonna be here on their actual due date and not on the NHS/scan one

I have the same thing happened to me, according to my last period I’m due the 23rd but at my 12w scan they changed it to the 16th. But since then I’ve moved to the other side of the country and the midwife here has been saying on their system it says the 23rd which is weird.. so technically I’m not even 40w yet but they’re treating me like I am (I have an appointment on Friday and I might be induced) but I’d like to wait for labour to start naturally! Just super confusing.. and on Tuesday I wasn’t dilated at all 🥲

I’m the exact same! My EDD is the 22nd but I tracked my periods religiously so I know based on my LMP my due date would be the 29th and funnily enough when I went privately at 8 weeks that’s what my EDD was. It was only when I got an NHS scan I was told 22nd. I’m very prepared to go over 40 weeks x
