Little ones who don’t go to nursery

Hi girls My little one currently doesn’t go to nursery. They are 23 months old. Please can you share what a day looks like at home with no nursery? What do you get up to each day? How often do they see other children etc. Thanks

My little one doesn't go to nursery and I'm also disabled so day to day can be very varied! I've made a couple of mum friends in the area so when I'm well we tend to go meet them, usually to play at the park or go for coffee or food. On days when things aren't great we tend to just have a tv and independent play day. I don't really stick to much of a schedule but a typical home day would start with some telly while I wake up and have a coffee.I make breakfast and we'll both eat. Then she will get some toys out and play or maybe do some drawing. After that she'll nap around 11, usually about 2 hours. Once she's up she'll play again, eat some lunch or snacks. Towards evening we'll settle down and watch a film or something. Daddy gets home and she'll play and hang out with him a while then I'll make her some dinner and we'll either hang out in the kitchen or at the table while she eats. After that we do bedtime routine and I'll take her up to bed. Nothing special but she never complains 😊

Mon - toddler group Tues - swimming class Weds - outdoor toddler group Thurs - play date with a mum I’ve met at toddler group Fri - either a trip to a farm, a park, a soft play, to the shops, the local library or we play in the garden. 95% of the time we go out twice a day, morning and afternoon as we both need fresh air. The afternoon tends to look similar to things we do on Fridays. When we are home, if my husband has the car - we paint, dance, sing, read books, cook, do washing, play with the dog, play with toys, take a bath together. Each day we learn too - she loves to learn, she can count 1-20, knows all her shapes and colours and knows part of the alphabet! We’ve done this through flash cards, reading, singing - she’s my little best friend and I adore spending my days with her 🩷

My little boy goes to a childminder Monday and Friday but on a day he’s not there we see my friend on a Tuesday who has a little girl and then we go to a class in the morning, then on a Thursday we go to play group

We go to a toddler music class on Monday and dance class on Saturday. Rest of the week we go out a walk in the morning then to the park & same again in the afternoon. I car share with my husband so limited to doing 2 toddler classes as nothing walking distance.

We don’t have a fixed schedule but have a selection of activities we do on a daily/weekly basis. I should add that my toddler doesn’t really like to play with other children his age. We used to do play dates between 15-17 months old but stopped and I haven’t got any other mom friends with children of similar age who’re up for it (all of them send their children to nursery so don’t see a point to do play dates). These are the activities we do: - library x1 a week - bake together x1 a week - woodland play area at the RHS gardens near us at least x1 a week - bookshop (biggest Waterstones in the north) x1 a week - the neighbourhood park x2-4 a week - shopping mall/grocery shopping x1 a week - zoo x1 a month - farm x1-2 a month At home, we are Montessori aligned and what we do is based on his interest!
