Just got home from D&C procedure

Hi everyone. Unfortunately I left the January 2025 babies group and have now joined this one. I lost my baby at 9w4d, finding out through my first ultrasound on Tuesday and just came home from the D&C today. I have an almost three year old and want to give him a sibling more than anything. We’re devastated. Anyone experience missed miscarriage/D&C and would like to give some encouraging words? How long did take you to conceive again or at least get your period? Anything is so appreciated and much respect to all of you ladies here. This is so hard 💔

I am so sorry for your loss❤️

Thank you. I know I’m not alone and it’s so common but it just helps to speak to others and hear their stories. I’m so sorry for yours as well. Can’t wait for our rainbow babies 🌈❤️

I am so sorry I just had my 3rd miscarriage at the beginning of June. After my first one I had a natural miscarriage I was pregnant again in 5 months after my DNC I was pregnant again after 21 months and have my son now

@Jennifer so sorry for your losses. Thank you for responding and congratulations on your son 💙

In the exact same position, feel free to message me if you want to chat x

It is absolutely difficult to manage a loss of a child especially one you really wanted. I would suggest processing and allowing what ever grief looks like to you happen. Before my daughter is now almost 8 months old I have 3 miscarriages. It’s hard to imagine most of my children are not here with me today but also makes me grateful my daughter is earth side. There is hope!

I am so sorry for your loss, I went through that twice. Two of my 3 losses were found out at that first ultrasound and it is such a hard thing to get past. If you ever need to talk about anything I’m here for you!

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I had a missed miscarriage at 12w5d, and had a DnC a week later (June 14). I had some discharge on and off since the DnC but just got my period today. We too want another baby and plan to start trying right away even though we’re still mourning the loss of our baby girl and probably always will be. Sending you hugs for your heartbreak and hoping you get your happy story and rainbow baby soon. ❤️

Thank you all for responses. It means so much to me. Hugs to all of you ❤️

So sorry for your loss ✨ I had mmc in November baby was 11+4 we found out at 12 week scan. I had d&c and actually needed a second d&c in January due to retained products. I actually lost all hope of falling pregnant again anytime soon but I found out I was pregnant this April and I’m currently 16weeks we saw him yesterday and he is looking super healthy! Don’t loose faith spend time grieving and looking after yourself first and foremost ✨

@Tanya wow that’s great. so sorry for your loss but thank you and so excited for your rainbow baby ❤️🌈

Im sorry i feel you. I was due Jan 31st and had a silent miscarriage at 8w so had to have a D&C about 2 weeks ago. Also have a 2.5yo born on the same date the other baby was due (clearly fertile one day of the year :D) Unfortunately everyone is different and for some people it might take just 1 try to get pregnant and for others it might take years. We did run a rest to see if there’s chromosome abnormalities but everything was good. So now we have to run tests to see why my body rejects pregnancy. About the D&C recovery. You will feel fine at the start and around day 3 you might get more blood or even cloths so don’t freak out unless you’re soaking pads like crazy. A heating pad will be your best friend. If you have blood clots which is normal you might get bad contractions till they go out. It’s all normal unless they’re huge and I mean like lemon. Rest and don’t overwork yourself. The more you push yourself the more you will bleed. Hope you have an easy recovery (hug).

@Boryana great tips thank you so much ❤️

I had D&C last Thursday, probably a day before yours. Even I lost a Jan 2025 baby ;( So I feel you, I'm sorry for your loss. My recovery from D&C has been good so far, 2-3 days of mild bleeding. Gonna wait for my next period. DM me if you want me to keep you posted about my progress and listen to yours. The procedure was traumatizing, as the painkillers were inadequate or ineffective, and I was in unbearable pain. I hope the recovery is on track. Good luck to you!!

@Neeta Dsouza They didn’t put you to sleep? My procedure was like going to a spa. Went in, they put me under and I haven’t even realized when I’ve fallen asleep but a second later I woke up and it was all done, I was nicely rested, 0 pain and was offered a small meal and a drink as they don’t let you eat/drink for 12h.

@Neeta Dsouza oh my god that’s horrible. I was put under anesthesia, which scared me but I’m glad they did. I hope you atleast have the smoothest recovery possible. ❤️

I am in the same boat, lost my January 2025 baby. I started with some spotting 11+2 and they did a scan in which they found out baby’s heartbeat stopped after 9 weeks. I was bleeding a lot afterwards so they did a DNC on 10 July. Still bleeding a bit but procedure was painless and under GA did not feel much. I am still in a sense of disbelief but have a one year old who gives me strength. Sending you hugs and hope ❤️

@Shusma I had my procedure on the 10th also and at the same stage of recovery. Wishing you peace and healing ❤️

@Boryana , OP - unfortunately not. I wasn't even presented that option. If I were, I'd have taken it. They explained the procedure to me and it sounded very similar to the hysteroscopy + polyp removal I underwent last year. So I wasn't too worried and didn't ask for GA. But I had asked my OB to administer me the same meds as the previous procedure, and she did give me Norco and ibuprofen as last time. But now I see 2 pain relief injections were missed out, I don't know why. That's why I was in excruciating pain and even threw up during in between the 3 horrifying suction she did. I'm glad you guys didn't have to go through the same. My recovery is ok right now, seeing more bleeding from yesterday which isn't uncommon. I also have some pain in the tailbone which I'm hoping is temporary. I'll continue monitoring..I want this to end so bad.
