Peeing pants after miscarriage

I had a miscarriage on April 14th. I pushed out the baby at the hospital, then only half the placenta came out, so I had to get a D&C. Ever since I have been peeing my pants when I cough or working out hard. It’s more than a little gush, goes thru a panty liner. I have had to change my shorts 3 times in the past week. Anyone else experience this, normal? Which doctor should I try to get an appointment with (OB, gynecologist,or general primary)? July 16th I have a phone screening to see if I’m eligible to be considered high risk in my practice. I’m unhappy with my current practice, feel they don’t care to see me after a miscarriage. I called to become a patient of a new practice and they gave me an appt 1 year out in June 2025!

I’m not a doctor but that doesn’t seem like it should be happening at all!!! Which country are you in? I’m in Australia and here I would see my GP (general practitioner) and ask them whether it would be an OB or a gyno that I should see. If the wait times are long I would follow up with the group that did the D and C for advice. In terms of the long wait times not sure if it’s an option for you but in Aus you can ask to be put on a cancellation list for an earlier appointment so if someone cancels they will call you up to come in…it’s a way of being seen faster but only works if you have the freedom to be flexible with days and times of appointments. Hope that helps and so sorry to hear you’re going through this 😞 hopefully you’re feeling better soon ❤️

Sounds like pelvic floor repair is needed. If you had to push, it might have weakened so you need to build and tighten those muscles. I'm not a doc though so I'd check with an ob

Find a different doctor. No one should have to wait a year to see a doctor.

I had this after my D&C, it went away after a few months, I probably should have seen a doctor but I was so depressed I just stayed in bed and wore a pad

Try pelvic floor exercises! A women’s physio is the specialist in this regard x

Thanks! I’m in the US, Massachusetts. The hospital that did the D & C is the one I got a year out appt to become a patient. I think all doctors in my area have year long wait… I actually had a heart palpitation problem a year ago and it was a 6 month wait for a phone consult in Boston so I found a doctor hours away in NY with openings. I’m getting so frustrated with doctor’s offices not calling me back or not accepting new patients. I found a pelvic floor PT place nearby, I’m going to give them a call!
