Nervous trying after missed miscarriage

I had a D&C 2 weeks ago. Are you more likely to miscarry again if you try first cycle? I feel ready. But I’m convincing myself it’ll happen again.

There's nothing to show your more likely, my doctor advised to wait a month just to be sure everything had passed on the grounds it could bring up a false positive, and its also harder to work out the age of baby until the scans as its not a normal cycle. But if you've had a negative test etc then there's no medical reason to not go ahead. Good luck!!! Xx

I’m in the same position I had a d&c 2 weeks ago and started trying again last night 🤞🏻🤞🏻 that was a second d&c so I’m confident they got everything and i was so keen to start trying my doctor said it’s safe to do so and if I get pregnant first try we will deal with a plan accordingly in regards to scans. Goodluck !! 🫶🏻

@Isabella have you got a negative test? I was told to wait until I had a negative pregnancy test to ensure the D&C had worked xx

@Vicki I’ve just tested, it’s still a faint positive. Im so frustrated. I just want it to be over so I can attempt to move on xx

@Ashley oh bless you. I'd definitely wait for a negative. My first one was negative within a week, but I'm currently miscarrying again and I have a feeling this will be a while longer as I was a bit further along. I understand the frustration it's such a tough time. 🤞🏻 for a negative in the next few days for you xx

@Vicki I was 9 and a half weeks. I’ll test again mid next week. I just want to be pregnant so bad but I want the best chances of a successful pregnancy. Miscarriages are so 💩, I’m so sorry you’re going through it. Sending love xxx

@Ashley I hear that! We'll get there soon girl 🫶🏻 xx

@Ashley no but I haven’t tested either I’m waiting for blood results but after my first D&c I went from hcg 75000 to 100 then had another d&c 2 days later due to infection so I’m hopeful I would be 0 now

I had a d&c to remove some retained placenta from an emergent d&e (17 weeks) a month earlier. My doctor told me to wait one cycle just because my body had been through so much trauma during the pregnancy and subsequent loss (huge amounts of blood loss, placental abruption etc). The cycle following the cleanup d&c was SUPER short anyways - it was only 23 days - so we wouldn’t have gotten pregnant even if we had tried. The next cycle and our first cycle back trying we got pregnant and I’m now almost 13 weeks with a super healthy baby. Earlier first trimester losses, I don’t think there’s necessarily a need for you to wait a certain amount, it’s more about when you’re emotionally ready.
