How long do you actively play with your baby a day?

I can't say I've ever quantified it. At the moment, though, she's started pulling herself up and falls a lot still, so I feel like we don't really play atm, I'm more chasing her around to stop her hurting herself, as literally all she wants to do is try to stand 😅

All day, besides eating and napping. We're always together

I sit on the floor for about an hour with him playing with his toys with him and then let him play on his own. We watch and I sing nursery rhymes to him when we’re on the sofa

I engage with her almost all day but not actively playing- I will talk to her and narrate what Im doing or sing songs but I have things I need to do. Shes good at playing with toys on her own and then I go and join her a few times a day when I can and read books or tickle etc.

I just got the mum guilt 😂 I often spend 1 hour or 2 sat in the playpen actively playing with him but the rest of the time I’m keeping my eye on him independently playing or such whilst I get things done

Dont!! One of the best things for development is independent play, thats how they develop skills and curiosity. Playing all day so they have no down time isnt good

We go to a children’s centre every day for 2 hours so they do their own thing there then I might jump in the play pen at home for 30 mins or so but they rest of the time they play independently

If we have a group in the morning I feel better about leaving her to play with her own toys ect whilst I get on with some bits in the afternoon, but she will still come with me round the house when I’m cooking ect. Days with no groups I do put on a makeup home baby class for me and her or do some sort of messy play activity like so I feel less guilty 🤣 But generally I am actively engaged with her most of the day with maybe an hour where she is self entertaining and an hour for a walk where she is just looking around I am exhausted and don’t know how I’ve fallen into this 😂

Probably not loads but I do t feel bad about it! We have an hour talking and some nursery rhymes in the morning with his first bottle. Then a full day of everything and lots of walks where I talk to him. At night after his bath I like to play with him on the floor for about half an hour before a book/ bed. So although not loads of one on one play I would say I consistently talk to my boy. It can get annoying but I basically talk him through EVERYTHING….. just to expose him to as many words a day as possible. As a comment above though, I do think independant play is important too! I’ve learnt to leave him playing though without the tv on, as this can distract him x
