Winter sleep?

If in a toddler bed, what are you planning to do for winter? My LO currently has a 4tog duvet, I am finding conflicting information about a child his age having a thicker duvet? What are you doing? Getting a thicker duvet or sticking to 4 tog and putting heating on before bedtime?

We have a duvet but he kicks it off he's not a fan of sleep bags personally I've no Idea what we are going to do I might try a duvet again

We currently have a 2.5 tog duvet and then a nice woollen blanket over the top for layering as the temperature is so variable atm. Also putting the heating on sometimes before bed x

@V 🌼 what Is your plan for as it gets colder?

I’m sticking with the 4 tog duvet. My LB doesn’t like the duvet so I’m hoping the colder it gets, the more inclined he’ll be to use it! But I’ve bought fleece pjs and long sleeved thermal vests which I’ll put him in when it gets very cold.

Depends as my boy tends to get quite warm, every kid is a bit different in that way. But its better to be too cold than overheat. And a lot of heat is lost through the feet so socks could help a lot. Keeping ventilation flaps in their room closed during colder time too

Fleecy pyjamas and heating if needed our home stays pretty warm though. If it gets really really cold I’ll add a vest under pjs or use his fleecy blanket over his duvet x

We have a 4.5 tog. I saw info on the Internet to suggest she could be in a warmer one so ordered a 7.5 tog but it actually says on the packaging from the duvet manufacturers that anything above 4.5 isn't appropriate until they're 3+ due to risk of overheating. So we're sticking with the 4.5 and have bought some fleeced pj's and will put the heating on before bed / during the night if needed. Hope this helps x

We need to upgrade from a toddler duvet as he is in a single bed now anyway, so when it gets colder I’ll Get a 4.5 tog and opt for what @Emily and @Nicky are doing with vest etc x
