Can’t put baby down

Hiya I have a one month old and during the day he cannot be put down for his naps. Everytime I put him down he wakes up minutes after or instantly and I have to start all over again. I also have a 16 month old so not being able to get up for hours at a time when he is napping on me is getting almost impossible. Please help how can I start to put him down

Have you tried white noise? I usually put a white noise machine on as my baby falls asleep and keep it next to her when I put her down. Also, yesterday I felt like nothing was working, so I just put her in a baby wrap and had her wrapped to me to sort a few things that needed done like putting a washing on and bottle washing/sterilising.

@Kim yeah I have a white noise machine which I try with him already. I have a baby carrier which I use multiple times a day as my partner works away so it’s needed for me to make my little girl dinner and wash bottles etc but there’s only so long I can keep him in it each time x

We’ve just got one of those big swinging chairs (fb marketplace is so good for those types of things!). It could help to keep asleep once you’ve transferred? Helps with my LG! It is pretty big but worth it for us as I can put her down and it keeps her settled. Not a magic fix for all but possibly worth a try!

Is your baby swaddled when put down for naps. If their arms are free they might be waking themselves up when they suddenly move their arms and startle themselves

When mine starts to stir, I pit one hand on his chest and the other on the side of his head/face area and shush. So he knows I’m there enough to fall back asleep. It works a majority of the time.

Do you baby wear? That’s the only way I could survive with my Velcro baby. He eventually learned to be put down for naps, but until then, I’d wrap him up and wear him all day long 💛

I have this exact same problem my baby is 4 weeks too😩 Your not alone🩵
