Anyone with breastfed babies with reflux?

My baby is EBF and has been having reflux since she was little and now 11 weeks on she's still showing signs of silent reflux. What have you been doing to reduce the sick and spitting ?

My LO was EBM with really bad reflux - we ended up in hospital as she stopped breathing due to her reflux (she was born at 34 weeks so potentially played a factor as well) and they prescribed Gaviscon for her to take. Tbh it was a nightmare to make up and give to her and I didn’t notice much difference (still projectile vomits etc) she was moved onto Omprazole but I think she spits most of it out tbh as there’s not really be a massive improvement but I know a few people who both have worked really well for so might be worth speaking to HV or doctor if you’re happy to go down the medication route? We’ve now just moved her onto Aptamil reflux milk to do combi feeding and she seems to be better after bottles of that but we still haven’t found the fix for the problem entirely so just hoping it’s something she grows out of relatively soon!

@Natalie hi love, my baby was born at 35 weeks, also ebf and he’s continuously suffering from silent reflux. has the anti reflux formula helped? as he’s losing weight due to the bad reflux 😢. I want to combi feed but not sure which formula to start off with? Has your LO been suffering from constipation since you started the anti reflux stuff? not sure if Comfort milk would be better because of that x

It’s horrific isn’t it? I have a 2 year old as well and never remember feeds being this stressful but I dread the ones at night because it takes us well over a full hour before we’re confident she won’t be sick when we lie her back down! I would say the anti reflux formula has been the best line of treatment we’ve tried - it doesn’t completely help but her symptoms are so much better with it. We haven’t noticed any side effects, if anything her nappies have been runnier with it but my only issue how annoying it is to make cause it’s so thick. We had to move up to size 2, sometimes 3 teats and my LO won’t drink it if it’s been over an hour cause it goes so thick and sludgy so premaking and using within the two hours is a no go for us! Aside from that though I’d defo recommend trying it as my LO is now 7lbs 15oz after being 5lbs 2oz when she was born and she lost weight for a while as well! X

Yep we started infant Gaviscon which has helped Immensely! You can give up to 15mL up to 6x a day but I’m only giving 5mL twice a day to ensure she doesn’t get constipated. It’s like she’s a different baby ❤️

@Allie that's incredible to hear ! Can we get infant gaviscon over the counter or do we have to get the prescription ?

It’s a prescription but I explained the symptoms at her 8 week appointment + requested it and they gave me a prescription really easily. I’m sure you could do it with a GP phone appointment
