Breast feeding and sleep

My 4 month old still wakes up every 2 to 2.5 hours at night to feed . He sleeps around 10 hours but gets hungry at night . Soon as he's fed he goes back to sleep . Anybody else experiencing this?

Mine does this too! I've found trying his dummy first before feeding when je wakes up settles him and he then goes another 40mins/hour before needing a feed x

Yeah same though often more like 1.5-2 hours and he won't take a dummy

Mine is the same I always try a dummy first but it never works so I feed then she goes straight back to sleep

Yeah my little girl is the same.

Yeh exactly the same, she’s 4.5 months. We previously had 1-2 wakes a night but now every 2 hours I think it might be the sleep regression

Hiya, breastfeeding counsellor here and mum to 3yr old and 4 month old. Yes, very very normal for babies to wake and feed in the night, especially during periods of huge development, growth spurts and when unwell or teething. Night time feeds are actually programmed especially to help both mum and baby fall back to sleep, and are higher in prolactin, the hormone that builds your milk supply.

Yes she wakes up a lot (4-5 times so approx. every 2h), and as much as I am exhausted, I have to say that I feel so happy to have these little moments just for us two 🥰

Are you sure he’s hungry and it’s not just a habit? x
