Cars...

I'm looking to upgrade my car now that my second is here. I want a car that I can ideally fit two car seats in the back and a passenger. I know the car will need 3 "full seats" at the back, but I was wondering if anyone can share experiences, etc. At the moment, it looks like I'm going to have to go with a 7 seater, which I really didn't want to do - had ny heart set on a Koa Sportage or Audi Q4 prior

You don't need a 7 seater, there are a few cars that fit 3 across on the back row. Join a car seat group on fb and search through previous posts there's hundreds of recommendations

@Ceri-Ann does the sportage have isofix in passenger front seat? Or allow car smchairs with airbags off?

@Charley options are limited still. May start looking at cars that offer isofix on front passenger seat I would not need tye 5th seat all the time but would like the option as a family

@Paige ours is a 69 plate and only has isofix in 2 outer back seats. Airbags can be off in the front but obviously would have to be a seatbelt fixed car seat. We did have a Renault capture (20 plate) which did have an isofix in the front as well as 2 in the back

@Paige I wouldn't limit yourself to cars that have isofix in the front seat, it's not safer than seat belting in, and whilst it's easier/faster for infant carriers, when you get to the next stage seats the longest lasting and best fitting ones aren't isofix anyway they're seatbelt and tether fitted.

@Charley I'm mean I'm open to options - my nearly 5 year olds seat is isofox built in so that HAS to be on isofix I just want a nice looking car that can take 3 adults and two car seats. Like I said the 3 adult side of it wouldn't be all the time just if we were going out for the day etc.

@Paige if you want "nice looking" to me that means staying away from people carriers and more towards SUVs, is that what you're thinking? I like the Citroen C5 aircross, it has isofix in the two outer seats and front seat, so you wouldn't be limited there, and there are 3 full seats in the back. I think there are limitations on what seat can go in the middle in the back, I don't think it allows a support leg but could be wrong, make sure to check the manual first before buying. But with the 3 full seats you could fit another adult between the two in the back easily

@Charley SUV is exactly what I want - but again it's finding one with the 3 individual seats at the back. I'll have a look at the C5

If you like the KIA sportage look at the Sorento, it’s a 7 seater, similar styling to the sportage and much bigger. I sold tonnes of sorento’s to families who had 2+ children and better value For money than VW or Audi! X

Ford kuga have huge boots and fit two car seats and a person in the back too xx

We just got a Skoda Kodiak and it is fab, loads of boot space! Xxx

Kia sorento

@Chloe this is something I will look at - really had my heart on a sportage so could be ideal

@Paige the Peugeot 5007 is also suv like and has 3 full back seats

Out of the cars that offer 3 full seats, I'd be between a land rover discovery or volco XC90. Available options though massively depend on your budget. Pretty sure the Audi q7 also offers 3 full seats but I haven't looked into it as much as not so keen on their media system 🙈
