Early waking

My 5 month old used to wake up around 6:30/7 every morning but lately it’s getting earlier and now it’s between 5&6, with the clocks changing soon this is going to end up being 4/5am and I’m not here for it. Does anyone have any tips?

What’s your daily routine including naps x

Maybe try put them to bed later if u can?

@Ashleigh no matter the time, she wakes earlier😢 the other night it was nearing 9 and woke at 5:30 x

@Amy nap, change, bottle and play until next nap time. We’re down to 3 naps because we found 4 naps she wasn’t sleepy come bedtime at 7/7:30 and she’d be babbling to herself😂 x

@Georgina what times though c

@Amy there’s no specific time, it’s whenever she is tired. Usually around 9ish 12ish then 3ish but sometimes it’s earlier sometimes it’s later all depending on how long she sleeps for etc

@Georgina ok fair enough. She’s probably overtired thats why she’s waking early doors. If she’s waking like 6am I’d get her down for a first nap by 8am with the hope she has at least hour and half. Then next nap about midday, and if she has another hour or so, try a third nap around 3.30pm and aim for bed by 6.15 xx Average wake window at this age is like 2-2.5 hours xx

@Amy I’ve found she’s under tired if I try get her to bed around 6ish though😢 she’s waking at the moment between 5-6 and she’s tired by 8 tbf and usually has 2hrs but today she didn’t so she’s currently down for her second nap of the day and I feel this is going to be a longer nap! I wouldn’t be bothered if the clocks weren’t going back!

My son was like that at that age…we started using the huckleberry app it helped a bit…but really what I learned to do when he woke up before 6 was just keep him in his sleep mode meaning I didn’t take him out of his sleep sack or turn on the lights I just acted like it was a middle of the night waking…it was hard to not just start the day…but he eventually stopped waking up before 6 (took a couple of days) best of luck ❤️
