Dreamfeeding

Hey, mummas, my baby goes to bed at 7.30-8pm but gets up at least twice if i do not dreamfeed in between. Is this normal? I'm getting comments from my parents and in laws that I shouldn't be waking up to feed, but it's easier to settle her if I get up when her feed is due, rather than letting her guide me.. I dunno if I am being selfish or what.. How many of you are still dream feeding little ones in the night? And if so, how many times?

We unintentionally started a dream feed when we were in Crete for a week as we’d usually get back to the room and transfer her by 10pm. She now wants a feed at this time after going down at 7, however we usually manage to do it whilst she’s still half asleep and it helps her to then go through until 4/5am without a feed so it works for us. I wouldn’t think you need to drop unless it’s disturbing her sleep and she doesn’t need it/is getting enough calories in the day xx

I dream feed around 10pm just before we go to bed. I’m not sure why because it doesn’t help her sleep through the night still. She wakes up anywhere between 2:30-4:30 which I’m pretty sure isn’t even for a bottle but I feed her anyway so she doesn’t wake up my toddler. I definitely don’t think she drinks enough in the day so I’m sticking to the dream feed for now. I stopped with my first child around 4/5 months but she’s always been a great sleeper.

It’s completely normal for babies to wake up to feed up until around 12 months, I found with my first she stopped herself around 4/5 months but my second has had phases without the night feeds and phases with. Currently he’s feeding twice, 1 big and 1 smaller closer to waking him up for the day. Hoping we’ll be able to transition down to 1 now we’ve started weaning and have more structure to the day
