Toddler

Does anyone's toddler like to knock their head on the headboard to lull themselves to sleep? Not hard, to where it would hurt them, but it just seems like a weird nightly ritual for them. Anyone?

My son does this every single night. He started this the same exact week we took away his pacifier. It’s just self soothing he does to try to go to sleep. I’ve heard so many opinions on if you should try to interfere or not. I’ve heard some doctors say they will outgrow it. Our doctor told us to tell him to stop over the intercom. We do try to tell him to stop which he will listen but a few minutes later, he’ll try again. But as of right now, we’re not super concerned about it considering he only does this when he’s super tired or going down for bed.

@Michaella Thanks for your reply! I didn't know if I should bring it up to our pediatrician or not. Now that I think about it, we recently got her a big girl bed, so I'm sure the transition has something to do with it!

I brought it up to my pediatrician just because it’s not something I heard of before, but talking to all of my friends supposedly their kids did the exact same thing
