We did the pick up put down method for a few nights and it worked wonders x
I got no advice really my first was the same I rocked till he was 1.5 and I was full term with my second . Killed my back . Somehow once my second was born he stared letting us put him down by laying in bed with him rubbing his face . We moved him into a floor bed just over a year old and introduced laying in bed together for set amounts of time kept extending it before giving up and rocking till he was happy to give up rocking. Not what you wanna hear I'm sure but some babies just want that closeness. Ngl I miss it some nights now haha my second isn't a fan of rocking .
I realised my body could not take rocking/holding my LO to sleep as he got heavier, so for naps I used our guest bed to ‘pretend’ to co-sleep from around 4 months old, stating with tight hold and then slowly reduced contact to just patting. I guess this makes him depend less on contacts - not long after I did that he could fall asleep by himself with no help needed, but it could just be a coincidence who knows 😂🤣😅
On the same boat, would like to know how to get my LO off that. My back is broken, today being an example, In so much pain is difficult to do anything. My LO is standing so she just gets active the moment I put her down
