Bottle feeding/breastfeedinfg

Any one else considering bottle feeding? Feel awful for giving up so soon but I’m really struggling with not knowing how much they’re getting 😭

How old is your bub? Until my milk came in, I found it really stressful worrying he wasn’t getting enough but after his weigh in day 7 he had gained a really good amount of weight which was reassuring. Lots of mustard poos is a good sign too. Don’t feel guilty for stopping it it’s right for you but also know that it gets easier ❤️

Weight gain is a really good sign that they are getting enough. Also, cluster feeding is normal & will be your baby telling your body how much milk to make. You got this!

If they have enough wet and dirty nappies and are gaining weight you know they are getting enough. Nothing wrong with bottle feeding though, or combi-feeding. I combi-fed my first and will probably do the same this time after breastfeeding is established.

If it makes you feel better, you can weigh them just before and after a feed (don't change any clothes or nappy), to see how much they've eaten. That's what kept my mum sane, because I was eating super fast so she thought it wasn't enough 😅
