@maizie itās definitely about balance lol. I do my part to keep her and the things around her clean. I just donāt want to drive myself crazy lol
Iāve got OCD about clean hands and shoes upstairs. Iām not worried about germs as much as baby needs to be exposed to some point to build up their immune system. That being said I wonāt have anyone who has more than a cold in my house until itās passed. My husband works at the hospital and has brought various germs home with him on his uniform but wonāt touch rhe baby until heās taken it off and had a shower. I am a little bit worried about when babyās older and the things he can get into outside as we have a fox continually coming in our garden and we have hedgehogs living in an old flower bed we havenāt got round to taking out. Weāre planning on fencing off part of the garden where he can play safely away from things that can make him ill but exposure to certain germs doesnāt worry me

your kid will do gross things no matter how much you protect them from germs tbh iām a germaphobe too but i donāt really see it as a bad thing. i just do my best to keep everything as clean and germ free as possible and heāll build his immune system up himself. i donāt allow shoes in the house, mop every night, wash our hands all the time and sanitise everything but my son still licked rain water off the equipment in the park yesterday and he was fine. itās just about balance š x i think you can get toddler hand sanitizer spray for when youāre out if itāll help put your mind at ease. we also use a shopping trolley seat cover as my son would always try to eat the handle bar š
