Potty Training

Desperately need potty training advice. This is my 4th attempt and she just won’t use her toilet. I have a little training toilet for her as well as the seat for her to fit on the real toilet. I have her come sit every 20 mins, give her plently of fluids but she holds it in. Or she stands up and pees all over the floor. She knows she’ll get stickers, treats, toys, etc for going in the toilet but she's just refusing. It's now 2p and she's had milk, apple juice and water and other than a little sprinkle on the floor she hasn't gone to the bathroom yet. Currently doing a lot of pee dancing and seems very uncomfortable but I don't want to put her diaper back on.

I bought a course from biglittlefeelings on instagram and it’s a 3 day method very successful if you want to check that out.

Read Oh Crap! Potty training. It was a lifesaver. My daughter was potty trained in three days

Thanks. Are these the no pull-up, no pants 3-day training methods? Cause that's what I've been trying.

@Liz yes, they're just naked from the bottom down. The trick is you have to watch them constantly. It was very challenging but easier with both my husband and I supervising. You watch for signs of them needing to use the toilet and then direct them to the potty. If you catch them in the middle of going, same thing. Take them to the potty. My daughter was resistant at first too and would go on the floor if we didn't catch her in time. One thing not in the book that helped me was letting her watch Mrs. Rachel on my phone. It was like she would over focus on going and watching something would help her relax and just go. They just have to get over the mental block.

@Mikayla Okay thank you, this sounds similar to what I've been trying. She definitely has to go to the bathroom at this point. So since about 930 I've been taking her to the toilet every 20 mins. A couple hours ago I caught her peeing on the floor and moved her to the toilet but she didn't finish or go in the toilet at all. She hasn't had anything on today except her shirt either. I've been putting bluey on for her or letting her play games and running the water to try to get her to relax as well. I thought at this point she would just have to go so bad she wouldn't be able to hold it anymore. And I feel like if I can just get her to go once in the toilet it'll really help the whole process.

@Liz it will! I really think it becomes this mental block. Kinda like trying to do a front flip. We can probably do it, but our brain tells us no. I'd say do your best not to pressure her because I think that can make the mental hang up worse. She will eventually go on the toilet if you're consistent. And you're right. Once they do it once, it becomes so much easier. Another technique we tried was having her sit on the toilet while watching TV. We wouldn't let her up until she had gone. None of this was in the book but it helped! She eventually would go and then was sooo excited afterwards.
