I feel you. My 20 mo is the same. Our HV referred us to a Communication through Play Workshop, and we have a follow-up in a month. You can try reaching out again and ask for a referral.

Hi there! I’m a girl’s mom, but I have few boy moms friends and their kids are also a bit late and only say few words, what their peds told them is its normal for 18+ toddlers to say 10-50 words, he advised to write down the words your toddler say, and of course keep normally talking to him and notice if he adds any more words, its okay, hopefully nothing to worry about🩷

My almost 21 month old is exactly the same. He’s got the weirdest selection of words, ‘hide’, ‘uh oh’, oinking and doing a monkey sound 😂 he also says Dada but also uses ‘da’ as his go to babble for everything so it’s hard to tell. I’ve taken him to the gp (about 6 weeks ago now) and he did do a referral but not heard anything yet. The gp did also say that communication is more than just words, and I found that a very valuable thing to consider. Do you think your son understands much? Does he use gestures (pointing etc) to communicate/interact? It’s crazy how many forms of communication there are when you think about it!!

My son has lots of words but they are all different . Is he at Nursey or anything have they mentioned any concerns ?
